A Capital Campaign
Take Paws Rescue is undertaking its most important expansion to date: the creation of Another Stray Cafe, a permanent rescue headquarters with a fully integrated veterinary clinic.

This 3,500-square-foot brick facility will allow Take Paws Rescue to care for more dogs, provide critical medical services in-house, and expand access to affordable veterinary care for the people and animals of Orleans and Jefferson Parish.
​
To make this vision real, we are seeking community and leadership-level partners whose investment will permanently shape the future of animal welfare in our community.
The Facility

Located at 5813 Plauche Street in Jefferson, Louisiana, this facility represents a defining moment for Take Paws Rescue.

It is not a relocation.
It is an expansion of infrastructure.
A multiplication of impact.

Our original Banks Street location in New Orleans will remain active and vital. This new building allows us to evolve — to move from operating within limitations to operating with intention and capacity.
​
Take Paws Rescue consistently takes on dogs that are medically complex, that have behavioral challenges, that need urgent placement, or time to heal before adoption. We have done so creatively, resourcefully, and often at the edge of space and infrastructure.

This facility changes that.
​
The Plauche Street location will allow us to:
• Create a structured intake and recovery environment
• Expand safe, humane housing designed for stability and rehabilitation
• Operate an on-site veterinary clinic to reduce medical costs and increase speed of care
• Strengthen foster placement through centralized support
• Offer community-focused services that help prevent surrender before crisis occurs

This is a shift from reactive rescue to proactive systems-building.
