Reduced Rovers

At Take Paws Rescue, we believe all dogs deserve a chance at a happily ever after!!

Some dogs need more help then others along their way to their furever family though.  While some dogs get lots of applications, other dogs have been waiting longer without much interest or maybe they need a special home based on their unique personality.  The "Reduced Rover" program has been created to help these deserving dogs find the homes they desperately deserve. With help from our Benefactor Dogs and generous supporters, we are able to reduce the adoption fees of these dogs and provide additional pre-adoption or post-adoption resources to these dogs and their future families.

See below for our current list of Reduced Rovers and their bio's for more information about each dog in need!  Donate to their training and care to help them on their journey to their forever homes.

Grey has been with Take Paws Rescue since February of 2022. After 9 months he has yet to receive a single adoption application. He was surrendered after being boarded for the better part of a year in a facility with no yard for him to play in. Due to his prior treatment, he developed anxiety with being kenneled indefinitely.  He also didn't learn to share, since he never had much of his own.

Grey wants love, attention, patient owners, and a yard to play in with his people. Grey needs a home without children and needs daily exercise, such as running and mental tasks like basic obedience practice. Grey needs help with basic training and resource guarding.

In addition to the standard services/vetting covered by the Adoption Fee, Take Paws Rescue will provide the following free of charge:

  • 5 group training sessions for Grey with "Not the Breed - People Training for Dogs"

Teddie has been with Take Paws Rescue since March of 2022. He was saved from a shelter as part of a large animal hoarding case and was semi-feral. This has made trusting people hard for Teddie, especially men.

Teddie wants a patient human with a secure yard/home so he cannot try to run away from your love. He plays hard to get you could say, and needs you to earn his devotion. Once you're his person, he will be in love and want to be near you and sleep with you. He wants a home with no kids and no other animals. Since he lived with so many dogs before rescue, he wants to be your one and only. Teddie also requests stuffed animals and squeeky toys galore! Teddie has received evaluation and training during his stay with Take Paws and just needs a calm home with patience to help him live happily ever after

In addition to the standard services/vetting covered by the Adoption Fee, Take Paws Rescue will provide the following free of charge:

  • A private one-on-one training session in home for his adopter and Teddie.

In this little body is a MEGA personality, just what you’ve gotta love!

Indie is an approximately 20 pound dachshund mix and for him every day is a good day! Indie is one of those pups whose tail never stops wagging and never meets a stranger. He is VERY dog friendly no matter their size, big or small, and loves to introduce himself and trot around the yard. He will play but he also will give them their space if needed. He is good on car rides and walks great on a leash. This guy is bound to be the sensation of whatever neighborhood he ends up in!

Indie is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. He is heartworm positive and has begun treatment which will be covered by the rescue.

Shiva does well with other dogs, but prefers them to be smaller than her and for a slow intro. Due to her energy level, she would love a yard and no small kids that she could be too rough with. Shiva had heartworms upon intake, but has undergone her treatment and fully ready to find an active home to settle into!

In addition to the standard services/vetting covered by the Adoption Fee, Take Paws Rescue will provide the following free of charge:
